Extended coverage and fast response sprinklers have dramatically changed the way we design these buildings. In some cases we can reduce the number of sprinklers required by more than 50% while providing better protection and a lower cost per square foot.
We use up-to-date 3-D CAD to design fire protection systems within complex automated conveyor and racking systems. This avoids costly delays and conflicts with lighting, conveyor components, or structures. We have also installed “fail-safe” or dry pipe (double-interlocked) rack piping systems where the product is extremely sensitive to water discharge. In-rack sprinkler systems can also be designed to be easily relocated as needs change.
Flammable liquids, oxidizers, and chemical corrosives all pose unique challenges. “E.S.F.R” (Early Suppression Fast Response) sprinklers have shown great promise in allowing greater product storage heights, but sometimes conflict with fire codes. We have been successful in integrating these and other issues such as containment, ventilation, exiting, interior hose stations, and draft curtains to mitigate and extend prior storage limitations.
We work with building tenants and owners who feel they have outgrown their present facilities. By working in concert with innovative material handling partners, we have doubled the amount of product space in older buildings. We have acted as prime contractors providing upgraded fire sprinkler protection, smoke venting, draft curtains, exiting, and high-pile permits.
